LEAP Scheme (Landcare and Environment Action Program) operated at Eprapah for three years from 1995-98. Teams of unemployed youth were paid to work on a variety of projects: Identification and eradication of introduced weeds; propagation and planting of native replacement species; creation of all-weather tracks and trails; extending the first boardwalk built by Friends of Eprapah with the financial support of the Redland Shire Council. These boardwalks were constructed in wetlands to access mangroves and other areas. Many skills were learnt under the guidance of paid supervisors as well as volunteers from the Friends of Eprapah Scout Fellowship.
